Obey Your Thirst

Obey Your Thirst

This shot was taken on a short walk in Eugene to test out a new lens I had just gotten, "the nifty fifty", the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D, which I was using on my wife's Nikon D40x.

I was shooting in manual focus mode when I saw this guy coming down the street. As I often do, I fired off a couple of shots even though I was not nearly close enough, but it gets me in the flow. There was no cover and no way this guy was not going to see me coming.

As I worked closer, I offered up a big smile and stepped up, clearly close now, and kept shooting. And we started this dance, me smiling with an occasional, 'yeah", "cool" and him offering up some smiles of his own. Then I nodded a "thank you", he nodded in return, and we both boogied down the street in opposite directions. I made a print that I was going to give him, but never saw him again.
