I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and left at 17 to attend college in Washington D.C. After graduating from Georgetown University I moved to Eugene, Oregon in 1977 where my wife and I went to grad school.

I'm a retired research scientist, competitive road racing cyclist, soaring pilot and of course like many have fallen in love with photography, and in my case street photography. I’ve been shooting on and off for about 4 years, highlighted by trips back home to shoot the streets of New York City.

While the classic masters of street photographer have been influential, my greatest inspiration comes from contemporary street photographers who work the streets of New York City, including Joe Wigfall, Zun Lee, Markus Hartel, Leanne Staples, John Frenzel, Michael Martin and Renata Ginzburg.

I consider myself a New York Street Photographer and have a separate website dedicated exclusively to my New York City Street work which you can access here:  Urban Lyric

I'm currently working on several street photography projects that will feature work from New York City and Eugene, Oregon. At some point I’d love to shoot the streets of Asia, particularly Singapore and Hong Kong.
